A European Qualifier

Nick Shasha braves the awful weather conditions and takes 3rd in Age Group at the Bedford Autodrome Duathlon…

As Nick finished 2nd Brit and 4th Overall at the 2016 European Championships, he automatically pre-qualified for the 2017 Europeans. However, Nick decided to enter this Duathlon, as it was the last of the qualifier races for next year’s Champs.

Here is Nick’s account of the event:

“The conditions were challenging to say the least. We had strong winds and heavy rain throughout the whole race – typical British Duathlon season weather! With a qualification spot already in the bag, I decided to take the technical bike course section conservatively and then let rip on both the runs. I whipped through the first run (4.8k), in 14.43!”
