    My old Mum always warned me about strange men bearing gifts, but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my front door and found Luke Humphreys, from Juice Lubes standing there armed with two team issue pit boxes filled with the full range of their products... 

    I first met Luke and his business partner, Will Miles, at the Cycle Show back in October.

    In the 20 years this race has been run, it has always be been blessed with great weather, nobody knows why but the sun always seems to shine for this race. However this year a few unusual drops of rain fell... Does this mean a race day shock? Well the men’s winner Steve Worthington was certainly a shock pulling off his biggest win of his career. However Torq’s Jacqui Slack continued her podium placing dominance.

    Wrecsam triathlon has hosted this established race since 2003. The British Triathlon Federation designated this race as the ‘UK Middle Distance Championships’. With the kudos of a ‘championship race’, it attracted a number of extremely talented athletes. Lake Bala plays host to this event with a 2000m swim, followed by a out-and-back undulating 80k bike past Trawsfnydd and finishing with 20k run along the Lakeside...

    The last time I raced this event was 2004, so I was eager to do well. I was doing the race as part of my Ironman preparations.

    Once again, the TORQ Performance MTB headlined with some cracking results two weekends back.  This time it was Lee Craigie's turn to impress the sponsors with a 2nd place in the highly competitive Elite Women's field.  Oh yes, and the boys did rather well too, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the Sunday enduro...

    Last weekend the best off-road triathletes raced at the Sardina Xterra event. Whilst the format of an Xterra event is fundamentally the same (swim/bike/run), that is where it stops. Instead of a road bike and lightweight racing flats, a mountain bike and trial shoes are used. So how did the ‘dirty’ race go?

    Jacqui has become a full time athlete this year. She spent the winter months in Australia to prepare herself for the fore coming season (it’s not a bad life having a continuous summer!). She recently returned to the UK and put her training into practice.
