Much like our Whyte Bikes 29C framesets that the team ride, the SR Suntour forks used by the team are completely unique, using a paint scheme that seamlessly matches our custom painted framesets and, as we are sure you will agree, tops off an already very good looking package. Importantly though the good looks are also backed up with a high performance, race tuned, suspension fork.

 

 

The Axon Werx is SR Suntour’s top model cross country racing fork, combining carbon fibre lower legs and a hollow magnesium crown with an aluminium steerer tube and stantions. The forks use an air cartridge which ensures they have great small bump sensitivity, with a smooth gliding stroke and they are very easy to maintain and service. The Q-Loc axel, a unique design for SR Suntour, allows rapid front wheel changes, which has come in very handy during any wheel swaps mid race where time is at a premium! At a retail price of £530, the Axon comes out significantly cheaper than many of the mainstream rivals, but has a performance to match, as demonstrated by some of the performances put in by the TORQ Team over the past 3 years and the Olympic gold medal achieved by fellow SR Suntour supported rider Julie Bresset!

 

 

 

SR Suntour was established in 1987, and last year celebrated its 25th anniversary, but the company’s history goes back as far as 1912. Their first ever suspension fork was built in 1993. From this date on, SR Suntour made its way up to become the world biggest suspension fork manufacturer in 2008. Today SR Suntour manufacturers suspension forks, rear shocks, drive trains, gear box systems, shifting components as well as ebike components.
