One of our generous sponsors, Sport-Torque are a new face in the cycle industry, but have been making much larger torque wrenches for years. We’re so pleased with the product that we thought we’d let them tell you what it’s all about…

”Sport Torque are delighted to be working with Team Torq Kona by supplying each team rider a “Sport Torque” torque wrench as a specialist tool in helping to maintain their bikes.

Mix fairy lights, add a splash of blue glow sticks, some banging tunes, a bridge to nowhere, a bit of duck or grouse, mix for around 12 hours, pour in liberal amounts of dust and a supschon of water, oh and not forgetting the most vital ingredient: 500 lycra clad mountain bikers and you have the makings of more fun than you can shake a stick at – TORQ in Your Sleep was in town and the party atmosphere was bubbling over. Brought to you for the second year running by those lovely Gorrick folks, who know a thing or two about fun events, they spent months, mowing, tweaking, shoveling and planning a spiffing 8 mile course with the help of the Army Cycling Union, that took you ‘Nowhere’ and beyond in a cunning figure of 8 encountering along the way a few ‘Duck’ moments, whilst seemingly meeting yourself coming back type thing in the ‘Back to Front ‘ section, if you didn’t get lost in ‘The Maze’ that is!

Just a few words of thanks to Team TORQ’s sponsors for 2009…

New Team TORQ boss Rob Barker is on a mission to create the most dominant, consistent, respected and most importantly friendly team Mountain Biking has ever seen. After winning all except one category at Bristol Bikefest, our team went on to win every category they entered at this weekend’s Bontrager Twentyfour 12. A big thank you goes out to all the manufacturers in the industry who have supported us and if you think this year's good, wait until you see the line up for 2010.

Just a very quick low-down on the new TORQ/Kona squad for 2006, because I’m off to Spain this evening to run a TORQ Fitness Week in conjunction with Spain’s first ever 24-hour race…

Last weekend saw the launch of the new format Premier Mountain Bike Series at Newnham Park, Plymouth. Congratulations to organiser Martyn Salt for sourcing some proper Mountain Biking courses this year. Newnham Park is a course of World Cup pedigree and 2004 sees a return to the trails at Margam Park, South Wales as well as the tough Drumlanrig venue in Scotland. Sherwood Pines is a bit flat, but hey, no one can say the Premier Series doesn’t have something for everyone. The National Championships is in Fort William – nuff said…

A very disjointed article for your interest. Just an excuse to brag about TORQ’s continued drive towards world domination really!

Team TORQ bar is only weeks away from being launched – debut at the first NPS over Easter weekend. Our kit is TOP SECRET, so no previews until we’re suited and booted thank you very much. However, Team Larkfield Cycles were far more organised and got their kit design into production way ahead of us. Larkfield Cycles have teamed up with TORQ this season and I think their kit looks rather fancy don’t you?
