Nick tackled the fog and the competition to finish 2nd in Age Group at the Bedford Autodrome Duathlon, earning instant qualification for the World Duathlon Championships in Aviles, Spain.

In one of only two qualifying events for the World Sprint Duathlon Championships, Nick raced the new, exciting, draft style format, which has been introduced by the International Triathlon Union this year. Essentially the same as Elite style racing, this requires athletes to work collaboratively on the bike and adds a new exciting and strategic dimension to racing.

Nick – Today was really tough; it was icy cold and visibility was low due to fog and having to constantly think on your toes and stay in touch with the wheels in front certainly makes for exhilarating racing. I’m now looking to sharpen my speed and power before both the European and World Duathlon Championships which are rapidly approaching.
