As we have mentioned clearly within the Philosophy page of this website, our approach to sponsorship is quite different to that of other brands. We don’t believe that spending enormous amounts of money sponsoring high profile athletes and teams to ‘place’ our product for ‘brand exposure’ is particularly honest and takes investment away from where it’s needed – ultimately from the quality of our output.

We look after a number of high profile teams, athletes and ambassadors who genuinely adore our products and of course we support them to achieve their goals, but this is because they simply won’t use anything else either based on the advice that has been given to them by professionals or through their own individual choice. We firmly believe that this is how athlete support should work. Sponsorship means nothing if it’s secured via a heavy cash transaction aimed at buying credibility, because it’s simply misleading potential customers.

We appreciate there’s a fine line to be taken between genuine support/marketing and dishonesty and we don’t pretend to be perfect, but our approach to sponsorship we feel supports our overall philosophy and hope this provides you with the greatest confidence in the TORQ brand.

The TORQ brand is fundamentally research-driven. We don’t fund research, we review, absorb and learn from it, then take on board the sentiment and use it to make better, higher functioning products than anyone else. This, we believe, is what both the athletes we support and our customers need and desire. They want no nonsense, straight answers to their questions and products that are proven to work.

We run four in-house TORQ Performance teams with TORQ-Fuelled athletes competing at the highest level countrywide and often featuring in International competition. These teams have dedicated pages on this website and you can learn more by clicking on the links below:


Aside from our own teams, there are a number of athletes and teams that we officially support (too many to mention here), but here are a small selection of them:

Sally Bigham approached us for performance coaching in 2006 and has since gone from a lowly domestic level rider to become a full time professional MTB Marathon Rider for Topeak Ergon World Racing. Sally has been ranked at the top of the UCI World Marathon standings for many consecutive years and is currently 2016 European Champion as well as Silver Medalist in the World Championships. With the miles she covers both in her training and racing, Sally is a prolific user of TORQ products and is a true ambassador for the brand. She has certainly earned her rightful nickname ‘Iron Sally’.


Joe Skipper is quite simply the best Ironman and Iron-distance triathlete the UK has ever produced. Joe approached TORQ for product support at the end of 2015, because his nutritionist advised him to do so. Joe was no slouch when he came to TORQ, but since coming into the fold, he has achieved a silver medal at Ironman New Zealand and smashed the British record at Challenge Roth, Germany with a time of 7:56.23. We’re really looking forward to seeing how Joe’s performances develop in the coming years. Exciting times.


Mike Cotty is an ultra-endurance-cyclist. Mike has completed some of the world’s toughest Sportives and ultra-endurance challenges and continues to surprise us with the many incomprehensible challenges that he sets himself, including the 1000km nonstop Road to Mont Blanc challenge he undertook in August 2014. Mike has become a bit of a celebrity, featuring heavily his very own Col Collective series. Watched by many on YouTube, it shouldn’t take you long to spot the TORQ bottles on his bike during his many many climbs! Once again, Mike approached us because he loved the ethos of the TORQ brand and the performance of our products and we’re proud to have him as an ambassador.


Nick Craig is a British Mountain Biking legend and the Scott UK MTB Team for whom he rides is probably the most well established and professional set-ups in the country (apart from our very own TORQ Performance MTB team of course). Headed up by MTB stalwart of International MTB Racing and all round great fella, Nick Craig, the team combines some of the country’s top male and female mountain bikers within the Scott UK and Contessa Teams. They also have a UK Gravity Enduro Team. Nick approached TORQ in 2005 whilst sponsored by another nutrition brand and has not looked back. Both of Nick’s children, Thomas and Charlie are following in their father’s footsteps and are not only TORQ-Fuelled of course, but performing incredibly well.


Kenton Cool is a British Mountaineer, alpinist and UIAGM Mountain Guide. Kenton is one of the world’s leading alpine climbers with over 10 Everest Summits under his belt and he was the 1st man to climb Nuptse, Everest and Lhoste in a season. TORQ have fuelled some of Kenton’s biggest adventures including his recent Everest 3 peaks record, summiting the 3 mountains that form the western Cwm on the 60th anniversary of the first Everest summit by Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953. According to Kenton, TORQ gels provided 60% of his calories during the last 3 days of the climb.
