Alex Lawton

Alex entered the world of triathlon in 2011 after finishing a Masters degree in international development and to fill the void left by a lack of daily games of football. Within 6 months he’d took on Ironman UK quickly followed by a short cycling trip from the UK to Croatia.

Since joining the Torq team Alex has gone on to take a host of outright and age group titles in regional, national and British championship events over the sprint and Olympic distance, including 2 British age group championships and 3 consecutive victories at the notorious Helvellyn triathlon, including taking Alistair Brownlee’s course record in 2015.

After a childhood spent in the green hills of Malvern Alex can now be found Manchester training with the City’s excellent triathlon club and trying to discover new hills in the Peak District
