TORQ Fuelled, Scott UK riders, Nick Craig and Melanie Alexander, have been busy of late racing in both China and Malaysia, with Mel Taking part in the Guiyang Mountain Bike Invitation Race and Nick returning for a second year to the Tour of Langkawi.  

Sally last reported back in March from a very successful Andalucía Bike Race, where she took her 3rd consecutive win in the female pairs category of the event. 

After our first article, a few weeks ago, covering how Mike prepared and trained for his Epic Trans Alpine ride (see article here) and the first part of the documentary of the ride, Mike offers some perspective as to why he choose to complete the ride and the second part of his inspiring documentary, following the second half of the ride. 

Hosted in Italy, Iron Bike is considered by many to be one of the toughest Mountain Bike stage races in the world. 

Mike Cotty is an elite, endurance cyclist who has excelled in a vast number of different cycling disciplines.  

For 2013, we have continued to fuel the Scott UK Team; one of the UK’s premier Mountain Bike Teams (alongside our own TORQ Performance MTB Team, of course!). 

Not only has TORQ-fuelled Kenton just summited Everest for the 11th time (see picture on summit below) on the 60th anniversary of Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary’s legendary 1953 climb, he has also claimed the Everest Horseshoe ‘3 Peaks’ record by scaling all three mountains in the region in one climb. 

With the race season almost upon us, many serious athletes’ winter training is now reaching its peak; late February/early March is often a time for racers to jump on a plane bound for warmer climates, as a means to escape the usual shoddy British weather. 

TORQ HQ is located in Shropshire for good reason; with our roots as a company firmly entrenched in Mountain Biking, one of the original reasons for locating TORQ here was some of the fantastic riding available straight out the front door. 

The Honda TT legends are a Motorcycling team of exceptionally talented racers, including 19 time Isle of Man TT winner, John McGuiness, TT fastest newcomer in 2011, Simon Andrews, and 2 time TT winner, Cameron Donald, formed to contest the 2012 Endurance World Championship a series of 8 and 24hour team races on some of the world most famous circuits. 

After an exceptional performance at the 2012 London Olympics, finishing 8th in both the 5000 metres and 10,000 meters, with huge improvements on her personal best times, Julia rounded up 2012 rather tired; having raced close to 70 kilometres on the track, compared to just 17 kilometres in 2011. 

Here at TORQ, we have been proud to support the Matrix Prendas women’s cycling team in 2012 and we are pleased to announce that they will continue to be TORQ Fuelled during the 2013 season.
