Hospitals facing unprecedented flu season, say NHS bosses

Essentially the article talks about flu levels in the population being 50% higher than the same time last year with cases continuing to rise sharply. It is anticipated that levels this Christmas are likely to hit record numbers. These high numbers look largely down to the rarer, yet more severe and infectious H3 version of the virus compared to the milder H1, which usually circulates.
