TORQ have partnered with #TORQFuelled former UK Pro Mountain Biker and Performance Coach Sally Bigham to search for a deserving MTB rider to conquer the Dolomiti Superbike event – fully funded!
The mental health benefits of exercise are well known, particularly in reducing stress and depression, and promoting well being. For this reason Iron Sally Coaching and TORQ are searching for someone we can support to undertake a fully-funded serious sporting challenge.
Anyone can apply, but what would stand out for us in particular would be someone with a personal story to tell, perhaps someone who is overcoming adversity in some way; this might be a mental or physical health issue, bereavement or other significant life challenge. Our aim is to find a person who would benefit from the direction, motivation and wellbeing that a sporting challenge provides. No previous race experience is required. We hope that following and reporting to us on this journey will not only help this individual, but also inspire others to become physically active and, in doing so, reap the benefits of exercise and setting aspirational goals.
The event we have secured an entry for is the Dolomiti Superbike Mountain Bike Marathon, which incorporates 123km of off road riding and 3400m climbing, set in the iconic Dolomites on the 8th July 2023. For anyone, this is a serious challenge, but we believe that with the right coaching and nutritional support, the applicant will conquer this challenge and we hope it will change their life forever. This event has been chosen and has a particularly prominent and special place in Sally’s heart, because she has won it outright 4 times!
Iron Sally Coaching will provide 6 months premium performance coaching and TORQ will provide all of the nutrition required during this 6-month training period as well as for race day. Entry to the event has been secured free of charge, as has your event accommodation, all courtesy of Dolomiti Superbike. Iron Sally Coaching and TORQ will also pay £300 towards your return flights (to be arranged by the participant).
The deadline for applications is 1st January 2023.
