Melanie fought off the competition to retain the National Masters point race title…
On the same day as retaining her pursuit title at the National Masters Track Championships, Melanie rode an aggressive race to also win the points race title. Usually known for gaining laps during a points race, Melanie won the title based on sprint points. Melanie said: “What a brilliant race! I went out to be very aggressive throughout the race and won points in every sprint, which is very unusual for me but I had to fight for every single point which makes the medal even more special!”
