TORQ in your Sleep 2010

Over the last couple of years, TORQ have teamed up with the guys at Gorrick to promote our very own 12-hour event ‘TORQ in your Sleep’.  In year 3, the entries are at an all time high with just over a month to go…

It’s not too late though, so if you want to join us, pop onto the Gorrick website and get yourself signed up at http://www.gorrick.com/racing/enduro12/

This is what they have to say at Gorrick:

“The 12:12 TORQ in your SLEEP enduro – remember the start times – 12 noon to 12 midnight on Sunday 29th August. Minley Manor is just minutes from the M3 at junction 4A and the course will cover an 8-mile circuit of heathland, beech woods, pine forest and open parkland.

TORQ Fitness are the headline sponsors and it will be everything that you expect from us and more! Plenty of trade stands, catering all weekend, showers, free overnight camping for those of you who want to chill before or after the event from noon on Saturday right through to 2pm on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon.

Do you want to ride Solo, as part of a Pair or a Team? The choice, as they say, is yours! Most of the race will be during daylight but powerful lights suitable for riding offroad at night will of course be required from about 8pm till midnight. Due to the enduro nature of the event competitors must be aged over 16 years.”

TORQ will be giving all entrants a free ‘something’ at sign on and we’ll be putting prizes together for the high performers in each category, so if you ride fast enough, you might well be taking a bundle of TORQ home with you.

Last year was the first time I personally rode the course and I had a fantastic time.  Experienced course designer Paul Howard came up trumps with this one – a delightfully flowing ‘give me more’ course with enough climbing to sting the legs, but not enough to make you feel you weren’t hurtling along for 90% of the time.

Be there or sit at home wishing you were there…
