The TORQ Single Measure was born in 2008 and has been hugely popular amongst cyclists in particular ever since. Extruded from a single pellet of aluminium, the small internally lacquered canister carries exactly the right amount of TORQ Energy powder to make 750ml of energy drink (3 level scoops).

The canister has an air and moisture-tight screw top to keep the powder dry and unaffected by the elements and perspiration if you’re carrying it close to your body in a pocket whilst exercising. Once filled with powder, simply unscrew the top and empty the contents into your drinks bottle and mix with water to make your energy drink. Once used, it can be re-filled from your 500g TORQ Energy tub or 1.5kg TORQ Energy pouch ready for its next use. The TORQ Single Measure is basically a re-usable sachet and because you’re able to buy TORQ powders cheaper in bulk, the cost per serving is significantly lower than purchasing conventional sachets. It’s also much more environmentally friendly.

The TORQ Single Measure is particularly popular amongst sportive riders or training camps where it’s useful to have a container to carry a single dose of energy drink in a dehydrated form, capitalising on a water supply at feed stations or shops on route.

The TORQ Carry Canister is a robust and sizable aluminium vessel extruded from a single pellet of aluminium. The screw top lid, also forged from aluminium, is air/moisture tight and the internals of the canister are clear lacquered to ensure that the aluminium is sealed away from contact with any food products that may be carried within.

The exterior of the TORQ Carry Canister has been painted with a highly durable matte black enamel, giving a premium quality finish to the product. The TORQ logo has then been subtly added using a spot gloss varnish and the brushed aluminium screw top lid has been embossed with the TORQ logo to finish off a highly desirable item.

The TORQ Carry Canister holds approximately 800g of TORQ powder, give or take 100g depending on the density of the product you’re using and we have developed the Carry Canister for 3 key reasons:

* Since moving away from plastic tubs in the direction of pouches for our larger servings of TORQ Energy and TORQ Recovery powders, we accept that some people prefer to decant their powder into another vessel rather than scoop it from the pouch. We consider that there are a number of benefits to using the pouch instead of another vessel, the main one being that the pouch will shrink as you use the product, taking up less space in your cupboard as you work through it, where as a tub or canister will naturally remain the same size. However, we do accept that people have preferences and therefore the TORQ Carry Canister offers an alternative storage method for those who might prefer it.

* However you look at it, a TORQ tub or TORQ pouch doesn’t look great on a kitchen surface and can look untidy. The use of a black finish as opposed to any other colour keeps the canister very much ‘background’ in your kitchen and will therefore work in most decorative environments. Simply decant powder from your pouch into the TORQ Carry Canister and have it sitting on the kitchen surface, making it easy to get your hands on without spoiling the appearance of your kitchen – dare we say it, perhaps even enhancing it?

* When travelling, we offer a solid solution for transporting your powders securely in a pouch with the use of a TORQ Strap. The only vulnerability of this method would be to sharp puncturing objects – unusual we know, especially if you’ve packed your bad yourself, but the TORQ Carry Canister is so robust, you don’t even need to worry about this. The 500g tubs that we use for our smaller doses of TORQ Energy and TORQ Recovery can fall victim to cracking and the tops popping off under pressure, which again will not happen with the TORQ Carry Canister. This product is a bomb-proof vessel for transporting your powders around in and can be reused again and again without deterioration of performance, perhaps just a few little dents and scratches if used for travel purposes as it grows old.

The TORQ Strap has been designed to secure your TORQ energy or TORQ recovery 1.5Kg pouch so that it can be transported anywhere without risk of spillage.

The zip seals on the pouches are good for keeping moisture out of the product and for general storage, but what if you want to transport your open pouch in your kit bag or suitcase? Simply squeeze the air out of your pouch, zip up the seal, roll over the top of the packaging tightly and then wrap the TORQ Strap around the pouch and secure it (see diagrams to left).

The double-sided velcro TORQ Strap has been designed so that it can be cranked up extremely tightly, forming an almost indestructable travelling combination. The strap will cater for a full pouch that’s just been opened, and is adaptable enough to also secure a pack that’s practically empty.

TORQ Strap is an extra long, extra broad, robust double sided velcro strap, developed initially as an accessory to provide a 100% guaranteed secure solution for transporting TORQ’s re-sealable powder pouches (TORQ Energy and TORQ Recovery) as demonstrated below. We developed the TORQ Strap, because supplying our powders in pouches allowed us to use significantly less packaging than was used in the tubs we used to have and although the zip seal is powder-specific and provides a strong airtight secure barrier to moisture and foreign bodies, in transport there is no absolute assurance that the zipper will remain closed if the sack is impacted.

The diagrams to the left demonstrate how the TORQ strap can be used to secure one of our pouches in transit, providing you with the confidence that when you open your kit bag at the end of your journey, your powder will be safely within your pouch and not blended into your clothing and personal items!

The unique use of double sided velcro allows the strap to be tightened securely to any diameter, so it will bind your pouch firmly together irrespective of the amount of powder that’s left inside it. All you need to do is expel all the air from your pouch, roll over the top where the zipper is featured and apply the strap as demonstrated.

The fastening is so tight on the TORQ Strap that failure of the strap under these conditions is literally impossible. The mechanism of tightening is also very straight forward and the TORQ Strap can be cranked up to high levels of tension very easily.

We realised that the TORQ Strap would have other uses too, but we weren’t quite sure how many there would be until we launched it! We now have customers using the TORQ Strap in all sorts of different situations. The best way to describe the TORQ Strap in a nutshell is as a ‘large re-usable, extra strong zip-tie’.
