Wins at Hatfield

Two of TORQ’s Open Water Swimmers, Adam Warner and Vicky Pritchard were out racing on Sunday 25th May at the Hatfield Festival of Sport with both of them securing victories in their respective catagories.

Both swimmers took part in the 3k distance race and both of them rocked home with convincing wins over the rest of their respective fields. Both male & female races started together and Adam rocketed off to a blistering start, followed very closely by Vicky, both of them very quickly leaving the rest of the field far behind.

Adam not only retained his lead but increased it substantially, and by the 3rd lap of 4, he was closing in on the tail end swimmers of the race. A very similar story for Vicky who not only retained her lead over the rest of the women in her race, but continued to increase her lead as the race progressed. Needless to say the rest of the field were blown right out of the water by their performances and both TORQ swimmers went on to win their 3k race by a country mile.

Adam completed the 3K course in 27:35 and Vicky did so in 29:31, although we do now understand that the course was about 100m short of the advertised 3K distance.
