Janet Birkmyre reflects on the successes of the 2013 season; eight months of racing from May until the end of December, taking in National Series events, the British National Track Champs, plus European and World Masters’ Championships as well.  

TORQ-Fuelled elite track cyclist Janet birkmyre takes on the National Derny Championships in Newport a race which involves being motor paced by a modified motor cycle around a track, here is Janet’s account of the race where she took a silver medal.  

The TORQ team have been racing strong throughout the 2013 year, with podiums at the club relays, World Championships and a plethora of wins throughout the UK. 

With the UK Mountain Bike Race scene on winter hibernation, and a lot of work going on behind the scenes to prepare the TORQ Performance MTB Team for the 2014 season, there hasn’t been any racing news for some time.  

One of the World’s leading Open Water Swimmers, Michael Ventre, is a passionate campaigner who believes that no one should go hungry. 

To complement the already highly successful and well sponsored TORQ Performance MTB Racing Team, Triathlon Team and Trail Running Team, TORQ are now searching for, and accepting applications for, podium placing athletes to be selected for the TORQ Performance Swimming Team for the 2014 season. 

TORQ recently attended the XTERRA England Championship which was held at the beautiful Vachery Estate in Surrey. 

The TORQ triathletes have been targeting the World Age Group Championships all season; primarily as it was being held on home soil in Hyde Park. 

Dave Mawhinney chose Ludlow Sprint Triathlon to finish the triathlon season off. 

Eleanor Haresign decide she had one more race left in her, so after a summer of concentrating on the short hard racing, she decided to take on a race that took over 9 hours to complete over some of the toughest terrain England has to offer, including climbing up the highest peak in England. 

Two TORQ triathletes had strong races at Bala triathlon. 

Following the introduction of Tracey Dean to the team last month, we are pleased to announce our second signing to the TORQ Performance Trail Running Team – Stuart Mills.
