This was Guy’s longest race of the season so far this year and just like the Seahorse Swim, it took place in the unpredictable conditions of the sea.

July has seen so much excitement, firstly with the Tour de France coming to my home town Harrogate in Yorkshire. 

Dave Mawhinney is back to his best, qualifying for the Ironman World Championships again at Ironman UK. 

On July 3rd 2014, TORQ Team Distance Swimmer Vicky Miller successfully completed a solo crossing of the English Channel, clocking up over 21 miles and 40,000 strokes in the process. 

The last weekend in July has been a firmly marked date in many of the TORQ runners’ diaries. 

TORQ have some super talented athletes in their various specialisms, including the team managers, whom stepped up and completed an Iron-Distance race as a relay between them. 

On July 3rd Adam Warner travelled to Hamburg to compete in the Annual International German Open Water National Championships to compete in the 5K and 10K races. 

A few weekends ago TORQ’s MTB Marathon Specialist, Neal Crampton headed up to Drumlanrig Castle for round 4 of the Scott Marathon Series.

This was a great reward for two of the TORQ team after all their hard work. 

If I am honest, I had hoped for medal of a different colour, but a medal is a medal and bronze this year means that I have won at least one Elite National medal in each of the 10 years that I have been racing at this level …

So far the 2014 race season has been one of the hardest I have raced.
