What a fantastic opportunity to race the famous Brands Hatch circuit on our trusy TORQ Twinfoils. 

A lot of people would baulk at the idea of doing an Ironman, Dave has now done 11 including the World Championship numerous times.

This duathlon in Richmond Park (the world’s largest with over 3,000 competitors) has become an annual event for me and I’ve only missed one event since the very first race.  

With an Ironman around the corner, Dave Mawhinney decided to cut the training volume and add some intensity. 

The second edition of the Shrewsbury Triathlon was recently held here in Shropshire and with TORQ sponsoring the event, we were hoping for some strong results, which of course we delivered…

James Emery: As with Dave, I found the swim easy and fast (the Shrewsbury Triathlon would be an excellent race for the nervous open water swimmer, all downstream and only 500m). 

TORQ’s super-team of Chris, Louise, Danielle and Ian were all really looking forward to racing the National Triathlon Club Relays, as it would be their first race together as a team. 

Since its conception a number of years ago, ‘TORQ In Your Sleep’ has steadily developed, and gained a reputation as one of the UK’s must-do 12 hour endurance events, according to one of the UK’s biggest MTB Publications, and is an event which now forms part of the UK Endurance Series. 

You know when you are in form when you produce a 4 minute 37 sec mile (I shall only dream!); 

Last weekend saw the launch of the inaugural Ritchey Trail Masters; a condensed replacement to the former Trans Wales, spread over 3 days and boasting an exciting new race format.  

European Ironman 70.3 Championships at Wiesbaden in Germany, attracts the best middle distance triathletes in Europe and beyond.

The People’s triathlon was a new event for 2012 and offered a great setting at Dearnford Lake, near Shropshire. 

The National XC MTB champs are the pinnacle of domestic level cross country racing – an annual, make or break event that offers riders their only chance to take home the title of  ‘National Mountain Bike Champion’ and the world renowned British National Champs Jersey..
