The National XC MTB champs are the pinnacle of domestic level cross country racing – an annual, make or break event that offers riders their only chance to take home the title of  ‘National Mountain Bike Champion’ and the world renowned British National Champs Jersey.. 

The team headed to the former World Cup XC venue of Newnham Park in Plymouth to defend their titles in the 12 hour event (See last year’s report here https://www.torqfitness.co.uk/news/bontrager-2412 

Fresh from a win at the Ritchey Bristol Bike Fest the previous weekend, many of the team headed north to Kirroughtree in Scotland for round 4 of the British XC MTB Series.. 

The 3rd round of the British XC Series was held at Hopton Woods, a local venue to TORQ HQ and one of the many excellent trails we have here on our doorstep in Shropshire…. 

Selkirk in the Scottish Boarders is a fitting location for a National Marathon Championships. 

Chris Andrews is a new rider to the TORQ Performance MTB Team for 2012, having held an elite race license for a number of years and previously raced at a world level he’s still hungry to gain experience racing at the top. 

The Dyfi Enduro is one of the UK’s most popular single lap enduro events, this year selling out with a full 750 entries in a record time of 62minutes after they went online! 

The team headed to Dalby forest for round two of the British XC series, for what turned out to be some of the toughest race conditions that a UK National XC race has seen in a long while…

Dalby forest was a stark contrast to the round one venue in many way’s, with the biggest difference to Sherwood being the sheer number of significantly difficult, technical challenges which cropped up around pretty much every corner of the course. 

We haven’t updated you since our team photo shoot or the second round of the Midlands XC series and with so much happening since then, here’s a round up of what the team’s been up to over the past few weeks. 

After a couple of long and hectic days at TORQ HQ, fitness testing, issuing much of our kit for the season, building bikes and modelling for the team photo shoot with Joolze Dymond (See here http://bit.ly/GD5KJ1 

 TORQ Performance Team riders and brothers Sion and Anthony O’Boyle last weekend headed to Wentwood Forest for the TORQ fuelled Goshawk Challenge, a grueling 50km enduro around the fantastic trails on offer in this lesser know woodland.
