Sam’s first Elite race of the season! 

 Eleanor’s perseverance shone through and awarded her a mighty impressive result at the Wetherby Tri.  

We like a bit of crazy at TORQ, so why would you not do one of the hardest Iron distance races in the world as your first venture into long distance triathlon racing. 

A very well established race on a classic course, the Dambuster Triathlon is where Iain Robertson took 1st in Age Group. 

Not only did Sam Rose win her Age Group at the World Triathlon Series, Leeds, but she also came away with a spot on the podium as 3rd woman overall, no mean feat against some 4000 entries. 

In a super competitive race where the best of Europe were in attendance,Alex Lawton raced super hard, put in fastest run for the day and narrowly missed out on a podium, coming in 4th, less than 3 seconds behind top spot. 

A welcome change in the weather at one of TORQ’s favourite races ensured it was a seriously toasty day, but Dave took the heat and a good solid race saw him claim Bronze. 

Dave put in an excellent performance at the National Middle Distance Championships coming in a close 4th, only just missing out on a podium place. 

Iain added to his Palmares success with Bronze and Nick only narrowly missed podium when they both donned their GB vests at the ITU Duathlon Championships, Avlies, Spain. 

The ever popular Ellesmere event, the Shropshire Triathlon (a favourite with TORQ) has a long and illustrious history, indeed an Olympian still holds the course record, and what a result Sam achieved in her first race for the team…

This race also doubled as a qualifier for the European Triathlon Championships to be held in 2017. 

TORQ Performance Tri Team’s Iain Robertson put in a solid performance at the British Sprint Triathlon to take victory in Age Group and was right up there in the overall classification…

Big Cow Sprint at Emberton Park for the British AG Sprint Champs was Iain’s first race of the season, so would be a good test to see where he was at with his training and an opportunity to try out some new kit from our generous sponsors.
