Melanie changed over to her track bike for the National Masters Track Championships. 

Another two titles for Jan Birkmyre bring her tally to an incredible 49 titles won over the past 12 years…

On the final day of the championships Jan won the 2k pursuit in a time of 2:34.000 which is almost a second and a half faster than the current World Masters record of 2:35.477.

Sunday started with the pursuit, where once again the TORQ ladies set the four times of the day to clinch three gold medals and one silver.  

Maddy Moore rides a stunning 500 – the fastest across all age groups – to take gold at the Masters…

Maddy’s favourite event, the 500, was on the Saturday of these championships and she managed to match her time from the World Masters last year to take the gold medal.

The TORQ Track Team were always going to be the ones to beat at the Masters National Track Championships, they set the fastest times in all of the timed disciplines and no-one was able to keep them off the top spots all weekend.

The Points race is late on the evening of the final day and it is Louise’s least favourite.
